Crushes

I am not a trendsetter. I am usually slow to the uptake, but I don't really consider myself a follower. I have written before that I like what I like and am not to concerned with what others think of me. But maybe I am a follower... An article in People magazines 35th anniversary edition is making me wonder.

The article is titled "Crushes"

1975- Donny Osmond
1976- David Cassidy
1977- Andy Gibb

Ok, I never had a crush on them. I was not born yet. I do like the BeeGee's though
.
1983- Tom Cruise
I had a major crush on Tom Cruise for a long time. Cocktail, Top Gun?

1984- Michael Jackson
Maybe not a crush but I ran around singing his songs for years. Still do. R.I.P Michael.

1988-1996 My formative years! LOL!!

1988- Johnny Depp 21 Jump Street! He was so hot!! Who am I kidding! He is still hot. I swear if I did not want to be a vampire I would so want to be a pirate.

1989- The New Kids on The Block- Donnie Wahlberg. I believe I have mentioned the NKOTB hotline before. I was obsessed!! (see here- 2nd post)

1995- Billy Ray Cyrus- Don't break my Heart my Achy Breaky Heart!!!

1996-2009 I was too busy being in love with my husband to crush on anyone. I am still in love with my husband who is a great husband and amazing father.

2009-Robert Pattinson
Must be my midlife crisis, but I am crushing so hard on Edward and Robert happens to be the face of Edward.

So there it is- I am a follower. I am disappointed in myself. Oh Well.

The Break Up Scene- Major spoiler!!!

I thought long and hard about whether or not to post this clip. It is the entire "Break Up" scene in New Moon. I have not watched it. I just can't do it. I have watched everything. I have read everything. I have bought numerous magazines with even the slightest mention of Twilight. I have listened to the New Moon soundtrack so many times that my kids have some of the songs memorized. But I can't bring myself to watch this clip. I am drawing a line. No more spoilers!!! AHHHHHH! I have 28 days to go and I just can't continue to watch these little tidbits or I am afraid I will be disappointed.

I will however post the temptation for you because that's what I am here for. Enjoy!! Just don't tell me about it.

The Cake Eaters

While reviewing The Haunted Airman, I thought about Kristen Stewart's performance in The Cake Eaters. This was a movie I saw months ago after I had seen Twilight. Kristen plays a terminally ill teenager who wants to experience love.

I had not really thought about recommending the movie. Not that it was bad.I liked it. I just tend to focus more on Rob's work. The movie was thoughtful and relatable.

In my daily read I saw that Twilight Lexicon wrote a post about The Cake Eaters. I thought it was a fine opportunity to do the same. The Cake Eaters movie blog is lobbying for an Oscar nomination for Kristen Stewart. I think she did an amazing job in this movie and is deserving of a nomination. Check out the movie. Last I saw it was still available in Redbox and playing on Showtime.

If you like Kristen Stewart check it out.

The Haunted Airman

"Mom- Mom- There's Rob!!!" my 6 year old yells (loudly) in the grocery store. I swear I saw more than one Twilight mom looking around with bated breath hoping to catch a glimpse of the real Rob. But no, my son's remarkable, well-trained eyes found Rob Pattinson's face on the Redbox.

I rented and then stayed up late last night watching The Haunted Airman.

First off, I have to say that unfortunately I thought there were lapses in Twilight where Rob's acting was less than stellar. Often his eyes are looking in the wrong direction. The Haunted Airman proves that Rob CAN act. And act well!

The Haunted Airman is the story of Toby Jugg, a Royal Air Force pilot, a bomber I think, who is injured in the war and paralyzed. He also suffers from hallucinations and nightmares caused by a guilty conscience from his war deeds. He is admitted to a creepy veterans hospital where the doctor's methods are questionable.

The story can be a bit confusing, but it is almost entirely featuring Rob. I like tortured Rob. I want to comfort him. Can you say man in a uniform?

This movie has been billed as a scary movie, either the British have a different version of scary or are faint of heart. Seriously, the previews for Orphan scared me way more than the entire Haunted Airman movie. I won't go into anymore details and ruin it for anyone.
I do have this recommendation, if you like Rob Pattinson, watch the movie. He makes it.

30 days!!

Lookie over there----------> On the right hand side of the screen!! Does that countdown clock say 30 days!!! 1 month?!! I can make it. I know I can. The soundtrack is helping. The New Moon Companion is soothing the beast within. My special edition People Magazine would be covered with drool if I didn't wear a bib, but I can do 30 days. Especially with amazing tidbits like this:

Taylor, you sweet guy, you are causing us Twilight Moms a bit of uncomfortableness.(is that a word?)You are just too young for this level of fascination. I guess it is a good thing I am firmly and unchangeably Team Edward.

30 days!! Can I get a WOO HOO???!!!

Soundtrack makes me smile!! :)

Ok, I apologize in advance for my whining. I have had one of those weeks that Twilight can not help. Insane and frustrating are good words to describe this week from hell. I will not bore you with the details. Actually, I would bore you with them, but I can not rehash any of it. I would have to throw something.

The light of my week was MrsMe handing me my New Moon Soundtrack. I have been trying to calm myself down about the movie release. I am afraid that I have built my expectations so high that I will be disappointed. I would truly be devastated, but the music is not helping.

Anyhoo-- I spent the day listening to the soundtrack. Here is my totally uneducated, opinionated review of some of the songs. Don't be offended. Remember what they say about opinions...

1- I love Meet me on the Equinox! It is a great song! The video gives me chills. Spoiler Alert!!! Bella seeing a vision of Edward in the meadow is breathtaking.

2- Friends is kinda irritating, but has the potential to grow on me.

3- Hearing Damage- I like it. The only song that has a bit of hardness in it.

4- Possibility- This song has to be when Bella is falling apart. I actually got teary while listening to it. Emotional!!!

5- A White Demon Love Song-- LOVE IT!! I was not so sure about The Killers. I saw them perform on SNL. They sang a weird song and the lead singer was wearing a vest with feathers on the shoulders. Weird!! The song is great.

6-Satellite Heart- May grow on me, but right now it's irritating me a bit.

7- MUSE!!! I liked Super Massive Black Hole, but Invincible is one of my faves from them. I Belong to You reminds me of that song. It's beautiful and my favorite song on the album!!! Go Muse!!

8- Roslyn- My brother loves this song. Can I say weird again? I don't get it.

I am going to stop there. I can't really review the others because I had to keep walking away. I am excited about the soundtrack. I am the type of music lover who stays loyal to an album for days, even weeks. I will listen to nothing else until I have it memorized. Kings Of Leon- you are out for now.
