Poor Riley never stood a chance

I got my trusty little Google alert in my email box this afternoon. It stated that according to Risky Biz Blog, the role of Riley has been cast. The Australian actor, Xavier Samuel, will be portraying the young vampire lover of Victoria. He is not what I pictured Riley looking like, but then I pictured Edward differently also. His description in the book is as follows:

Bella, when she first sees him, says "I could barely look at the blond boy—yes, he was just a boy, though he was muscular and tall, maybe my age when he was changed. His eyes—a more vivid red than I had ever seen before—could not hold mine." (Eclipse 24)
He is also described as a blond.

The role of Riley was discussed this last weekend between MrsMe and myself. I mentioned Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter). She felt that he needed to be bigger and more muscular, like Tatum Channing. I pretty much knew that neither would be considered because of money. Both actors with summer movies out would be asking for bigger paychecks. An unknown actor would be grateful to take what is offered to have a role in a sure to be blockbuster.

It's getting down to the wire. I am sure we will be hearing who will be cast as Seth and Leah. Both will be unknowns as well. I am sure of it.
