Fan Fiction that made me so happy!!

So, I haven't posted anything since Friday and admittedly that post was pretty lame. In fact, lately, all my posts have been pretty lame. I apologize. I am the kinda girl who needs inspiration. I need that boost of creative adrenaline. I snag creativity from others. Not in a plagiaristic way, but in a dependent way. A good book is like a drug to me. It makes me happy. It makes me feel good. It makes me feel more attractive. When I have not read anything good I can feel myself falling into a funk. I have been in a severe funk. Seriously!!

I miss all the great Rob tidbits out there. I am going through withdrawal waiting for a glimpse of Rob as Edward. I am given a hard time about the lust I feel for Edward. Contrary to my husband's belief. I don't really think about that. Really all I need is some of those sweet, sweet rushes of pleasure I get when I read any of the Twilight books or when I watch the movie. Or the almost orgasmic experience of reading my new New Moon companion. You would think that that would have at least got me through until the movie comes out or at least the soundtrack for God's sake. Nope. It did not. I am wallowing in this funk.
I was desperately searching my computer for a fix when I came upon a fan fiction I had saved in my favorites months ago. It was there that I found my spark. My renewed interest in the world around me. Wide Awake. I have read about this compilation on various blogs, but was never in the right frame of mind to appreciate it. It was so fucking good. Excuse my language, but I couldn't come up with a more appropriate adjective.

"Edward and Bella have dark pasts that leave them severely emotionally scarred, with nightmares that force them to stay awake. They meet and begin to form a bond during the night hours."

This impressive work of fiction rings in at almost 50 chapters with an epilogue in the works. It is dark and lovely and emotional. I want to own a copy!! It took me 15 hours to read and I came out with a sense of calm and that oh, so needed, rush of pleasure, and an unfortunate bit of eye strain. I would gladly get glasses and read this again. I highly recommend this read.

AngstGoddess003- You rock girl!!! You made me laugh, cry and throw things. All the right elements I need to be truly happy with a book. Edit this and publish it!!! I will promote the shit out of anything you write!!!

Edward vs. My children

Being the mean mom that I am, I have chosen Edward over my children. Now I am not a crazy psycho that is leaving my kids and husband to travel the world stalking Edward (Rob). No, I really do love them. Really. The problem is that they can't seem to keep their dirty little mitts off of my Edwards. It drives me freakin' crazy!!!!!

I had mentioned that MrsMe purchased me my very own life-size Edward. Regardless of the fact that he scares the shit out of me, I don't want anyone to touch him. (that is including my ladies who like to cop a feel.) Just get the f**k off my vampire!! I feel the same about my "baby" Edward, which is what PAB calls him. I don't want to find him in any one's mouth, I don't want to find him floating in the bathtub. I just want everyone to leave my Edward's alone.

So, now the mean mommy comes in. The new rule in my house is that if you so much as brush your fingers across Edward you go to timeout. And my timeouts (courtesy of B2) are mean and uncomfortable. You stand in the corner for 1 minute per year you were alive and put your arms above your head. The arms must not touch the wall. The same rule applies to baby Edward and life-size Bella. And if I am going to go that far, I will also include my many magazines. Just don't touch anything Twilight related and you will be safe.

You may think that I need a life. That I need parenting classes, but I am telling you, I ask for very little and the crayon art work on my walls and the juice stains on the couch prove that I do let my kids be kids. Just not with Edward.

Emily Young

I have, as most Twilight fans, an image of the characters in my head. My visions of Edward and Bella were always Rob and Kristen because they were on the cover of my book

I found this picture of Tinsel Korey, in full make up, as Emily Young. As a reminder, Emily is Sam's fiance'. She is scarred because of Sam losing control and mauling her. This is why Jacob is instructed to stay away from Bella.

So this is what she looks like for New Moon:

This is what I pictured:

Ok, so maybe not that drastic, but I at least expected something that couldn't be covered up with make-up and I expected her mouth to be more twisted.

I really need to stop looking at all these spoilers. I have 45 more days of driving myself crazy to go!!

The Host Challenge

I know that my blog is supposed to be about Twilight, but I really admire Stephanie Meyer and love her writing style. When I purchased The Host, I was totally not interested in the story- Body snatching aliens-please. It was a stretch for me to read about vampires so aliens were really out there for me. I really loved this book and in a way I think that Stephenie was able to more accurately express the emotions than she did in the Twilight books. When Melanie sees her brother for the first time, I bawled my eyes out, but when Edward left Bella I didn't cry. The Host shows a maturity that Twilight did not.
I was excited to read this post on her website:
Hey guys, great news! The Host is on its way to the big screen:

I'm so excited to be working with Nick Wechsler, and Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz to bring The Host to a visual format. They've all been a dream to work with, so lovely and collaborative, and I feel like we're in a really good place to make a great movie together. And then to have Andrew Niccol writing and directing? Truly awesome. If you've never seen Gattaca, go watch it now. One of my favorite movies of all time. It's such a great example of character driven science fiction, which is ideal for The Host, no? I'm having an absolute blast imagining different dream casts, which I would post if people didn't take my silly blogs so seriously these days. I'm looking forward to seeing the cast lists you come up with in the fansite forums, and if any of them match mine.
So, very exciting. Yay Host!

XOSteph
So here is my challenge to you all, read the book if you have not already and help me come up with a fantasy cast list!
And I don't want any suggestions of Megan Fox for any character! She makes me gag!!

Robert Pattinson as a Pirate?

I came across this article about Johnny Depp being replaced by Robert Pattinson in the "Pirate's of the Caribbean" movies. First of all-- Johnny Depp, in my opinion, is irreplaceable. He IS Captain Jack Sparrow!! Now I don't think the article is saying that Robert would take on the role of Captain Jack. I think it is saying that a new character would be introduced. I am all for this. I would love to see Rob in a comedic performance. Oh, that smile!! :)

But, here is my question; Where do these random websites get their info? Does Rob even know that someone wants him to be a pirate? I doubt it!!

I would still like to see him as a pirate!!

My New Moon Birthday!!

This last week I celebrated a birthday. I normally like a very low-key day with my family, but MrsMe took the opportunity to throw me a real live theme party. I can't remember the last time I had a party, maybe on my 21st. I will tell you that giving all the responsibility to MrsMe was very hard for me. I am a control freak. I tend to be the one in charge.

I was instructed by MrsMe that I had to clear out basically all th personal effects from my living room, pictures, knick knacks, dust and cobwebs. (Twilight has basically ruined my housekeeping skills. Ok, it wasn't that bad!) I followed her instructions and was left with a clean, empty, living room. My next instructions were to leave and let her and my husband decorate the house and prepare for the party.

I came home to my trees wrapped in twinkle lights and was met at the door by this:

I am now the proud owner of a life-size Edward and Bella. Poor cardboard cutouts have been sorely molested all weekend. Especially poor Bella. The boys couldn't leave her alone.

My home was breathtaking. There were candles everywhere, and pink roses. There were pictures of New Moon stills all over, quotes from New Moon on black paper, and beautiful posters. I can't even describe how beautiful it was. Here are some pictures. Sorry for how bad they suck.

There was delicious food and New Moon candy. There was plenty of alcohol to keep the mood jolly (as if Edward's presence wasn't enough.) I will post the recipes for the delicious spiked punch and shots soon. Then the there was the cake. My brother is a chef and in the past month has made some amazing cakes. A newly discovered talent. The cake he made for me is so beautiful that I could not cut it. It has a place of honor in my kitchen. I did not even offer to cut it for my guests.

Isn't it amazing!!! Do you like how he wrote the name of my blog on it?

We played 2 fun games. I did win both of them, but allowed my guests to claim the prizes. We finished our evening with a viewing of Twilight outside. Edward joined us, but kept falling over and trying to kiss me. If RZ had not been watching I would have let him.

(OME- with thighs like that I should stop obsessing over Twilight and go to the gym!!)
All in all it was a fantastic time shared with friends and family that mean the world to me. MrsMe decorations would make Alice proud.

Kathleen, Alli, Andrew and Reza, I love you all so much. Thank you for making my birthday so special!! Thank you Mom and Dad for taking care of my kiddos! PAB would have lit her hair on fire with all the candles!

I am going to stop going on and on and go play with my mini-Edward.

Maybe we will go for a drive?

A offering for your eyes in exchange for my lack of creativity!!

Happy Friday!! I thought to appease you with this nice picture someone emailed to me a while ago. I like it! I like it a lot! I hope you do too!
With my offering, I also include an apology for the lack of interesting posts lately. Life is really cramping my style. I do promise a great post highlighting my birthday party tonight. Can you guess the theme!?!?! Yep-easy peesy-- Twilight!!! Actually I think it is New Moon. MrsMe has made secret plans that include me spending 12 hours removing all personal effects from my living room and kitchen. (Since Twilight my housekeeping skills have definitely suffered).
I cannot wait!! This will be the best 21st Birthday party ever!!!
(RZ and most everyone I know are not falling for the 21st birthday thing-- I think RZ is afraid it is a desperate attempt to delude myself into thinking I am not to old for Rob Pattinson. Please don't worry about my delusions. I happen to know that Rob values maturity and experience. Think of all I could teach that boy!!!)
*Oh shit!! Someone keep RZ busy for a few days so he doesn't read this!! I will be in trouble!!
